Plastic Beyblade is a slang term invented by the Beyblade community used to refer to any Beyblade originating from a system that predates the Heavy Metal System.

They are also the only beyblades to have a separate spin gear and base unlike the HMS beyblade's "running core".

Another fact is that there are no Plastic beyblades have any metal in their attack rings, unlike the HMS beyblades whose attack rings consist of metal and plastic.
