The Running Core of [[Death Gargoyle MS]] is Metal Change Core. This tip is built on a special type of angle. When the Beyblade is standing up straight, it rests on the sharp part of the tip and is in survival mode. Survival mode can spin for a very long time (over four minutes). When it is put onto an angle, it is in attack mode. Its movement speed in attack mode is very fast; the same as Metal Flat Core ([[Advance Striker]]). Also, this core is very short; the same height as Flat Core ([[Gaia Dragoon MS]]). This makes it very easy to use [[Upper Attack]].

Metal Change Core has its roots early in the life of Beyblade, with the first incarnation being [[Driger S]]'s SG Metal Change Base. Since then, the tip was also used in [[Driger V2]] and [[Gigars]], but the Metal Change Core has the best implementation of it to date.

There are many ways to shoot this Beyblade. Into attack mode, into survival mode, survival to attack. One should experiment the different ways of it. One of the best ways to use this tip is with [[Sliding Shoot]]. This works great against [[Survival]]-type Beyblades. [[Death Gargoyle MS]] will zoom around the stadium, striking through the center every time. This will hit [[Survival]]-type Beyblades hard. Also, movement speed in this form is between attack mode and survival mode. It is balanced out. It will have good attack and survival at once.

The design of the Metal Change Core is that there is a small metal tip on the end. At the very center of the tip it comes to a point, and all of the area of the tip surrounding the point is broad and flat. If the Beyblade is level to the angle of the stadium, it stands on the sharp tip and is stationary ([[Survival]] mode). If the Beyblade is on an angle to the stadium, it will stand on the broad portion of the tip and move quickly around the stadium ([[Attack]] mode). Metal Change Core's Attack mode is about the same speed as [[Advance Striker]]'s Metal Flat Core.

System: HMS
Type: Balance

Name Changes

Death Gargoyle MS was released by Hasbro as Dark Effigy MS

Bit Protector (BP): Gargoyle Emblem

The Bit Protector of this Beyblade is Gargoyle Emblem. It is the first mould version of Bit Protectors.

Attack Ring (AR): Circle Upper

  • Weight: 20 grams

The Attack Ring of Death Gargoyle MS is Circle Upper. This was the first major upper attack AR to be produced, and immediately dominated tournaments. This AR is larger than most HMS ARs; this is a good point. Such a wide AR has very good attack range; it's hard to avoid being hit by it. The Metal Frame is almost a perfectly circle, and surrounds the entire outer rim of the AR. A circular-shaped AR has a tendency for good defense. Also, having all the weight focused to the outer rim helps the momentum, increasing its early defensive capabilities even more.

However, the most important point of this AR is its Upper Attack. Just by examining the slope (which is roughly a 35 degree angle), we can easily tell that it has a lot of lifting power. The large rim leading up to it makes it easier to catch the opponent. You can upper-KO your opponent very easily; It's hard to escape this AR's upper attack. In left spin, this AR has two kinds of attack: Smash attack and Force Smash. There are notches at the highest point of the upper attack slopes that will allow for smash attack. The end of the reverse side of the upper attack slopes has a very steep force smash slope. So far, we've concluded that this AR has wide attack range, good defense, Upper Attack, Smash Attack, and Force Smash Attack.

Mould Differences

The balance of this AR varies. You see, there are two molds of this AR; old mold (original and ACT2 versions) and the new mold (ACT3 version). You can see the comparison of these two below. The red Circle Upper is the old mold from ACT2. The light blue Circle Upper is the new mold from ACT3.

Old mold Circle Upper has more survival. New mold Circle Upper has its own special use, with its "wobbling tendency." You can build a Wobbler combo with this AR. It is important to consider the usefulness of the new mold. Wobbling smash attack is very strong.

Use in Upper Attack Combos

Here is a basic use of an upper attack combo using Circle Upper.

Weight Disk (WD): Circle Heavy

See Circle Heavy.

Running Core (RC): Metal Change Core

  • Weight: 3 grams

Metal Change Core has its roots early in the life of Beyblade, with the first incarnation being Driger S's SG Metal Change Base. Since then, the tip was also used in Driger V2 and Gigars, but the Metal Change Core has the best implementation of it to date.

The design of the Metal Change Core is that there is a small metal tip on the end. At the very center of the tip it comes to a point, and all of the area of the tip surrounding the point is broad and flat. If the Beyblade is level to the angle of the stadium, it stands on the sharp tip and is stationary (Survival mode). If the Beyblade is on an angle to the stadium, it will stand on the broad portion of the tip and move quickly around the stadium (Attack mode). Metal Change Core's Attack mode is about the same speed as Advance Striker's Metal Flat Core.

Another great advantage of Metal Change Core is its size. Its low height compliments the function of Circle Upper very well by allowing it to get under the opposing Beyblade and perform Upper Attack.

= Using Metal Change Core With Sliding Shoot

When you shoot Metal Change Core using Sliding Shoot, the Beyblade will move in a flower pattern through the center of the stadium, switching between Attack and Survival. This works very well for beating Beyblades that spend most of their time at the center of the stadium.

= Use in Compact Customization

Overall

Death Gargoyle MS was the first HMS Beyblade to be released with an AR focused entirely on upper attack. To this day, Death Gargoyle MS continues to be one of the strongest Beyblades ever made. Its AR has fine use for attack customizations. Its RC is good for Balance-types and Compacts. Also, this Beyblade is great for training shooting techniques. All Beybladers have to have this Beyblade. It will be enjoyed by any kind of player.
