Note: Basalt Horogium was released as a starter by TAKARA-TOMY with the Light Launcher 2, while the Sonokong starter was released with the Snipe Launcher.

Basalt Horogium 145WD is the fifth and final Beyblade in the Maximum Series. Basalt Horogium 145WD's "gimmick" is the "maximum weight" of its Metal Wheel.

Name Change
Basalt Horogium 145WD was released by Hasbro as Twisted Tempo 145WD.

Face: Horogium
* Weight: 1.05 Grams
The Face on this Beyblade depicts Horologium, one of the 88 constellations in space. Horologium is the pendulum clock constellation.

Clear Wheel: Horogium
* Weight: 2.71 Grams
The Horogium Clear Wheel was released in a grayish-blue color. It is gear shaped, with white Roman Numerals reminiscent of a clock decorating the circumference. However, there is a rectangular gap where "III" is supposed to be and 2 clock hands causing irregular weight distribution. Therefore, this Clear Wheel shouldn't be used in any Defense or Stamina combos. However, Horogium exposes the slopes on the Screw Metal Wheel, and can be used in the Attack custom described below.

Use In Attack Customization
Though Pisces exposes Screw better than Horogium, it can still be used in the Attack custom MF Screw Horogium 90RF.

Metal Wheel: Basalt
* Weight: 47.52 Grams
Basalt is a completely circular Metal Wheel, with sets of indents distributed around its circumference and is almost cylindrical in its thickness, part of which overhangs the Track being used in conjunction with it.

Basalt is a member of the Maximum Series, with its "gimmick" being "maximum weight". It is the heaviest Metal Wheel ever created; much heavier and thicker than even the infamous Libra. Basalt's circular nature, in combination with its abnormally heavy weight make it without a doubt, the absolute best Metal Wheel for Defense customizations.

However, Basalt is missing a chunk of metal inside its perimeter which forms what is called the "Spiral Staircase of Death". The "Spiral Staircase of Death" was meant to neuter Basalt's incredibly high power slightly by creating an imbalance within the Wheel. While this imbalance does indeed occur, it is not a notable hindrance to its usefulness. In fact, despite the imbalance/wobbling caused by the "Spiral Staircase of Death", Basalt also has strong Stamina, although it has since been outclassed by Scythe and Phantom. The imbalance/wobbling caused by the "Spiral Staircase of Death" does contribute slightly to the recoil Basalt suffers, but again, this is not a huge hindrance to its usefulness.

Use in Defense Customization
Although Basalt has recoil because of the metal missing from the wheel, its sheer weight alone makes Basalt more effective than Earth and even Libra at Defense. Its capabilities can be utilized in the staple custom MF-H Basalt Bull BD145MB/CS.

Use in Stamina Customization
Basalt may have a bad solo-spin time, but nevertheless, its Stamina in battle is impressive. In addition, its recoil reduces the opponent's rotation speed and can sometimes knock it out. Basalt's Stamina ability can be used to great effect in the custom Basalt Bull AD145WD.

Track: 145
* Weight: 1.47 Grams
This track is a regular, non-gimmicked track at the 145 height. It can be used in Stamina customs to great effect to to its tall height, but has been outclassed for wobbler customs by 230. It used to be on par for Stamina customs with DF145, but AD145 offers better Stamina on a 145 height, and 85 offers better Stamina in general. Thus, it's outclassed.

Use in Stamina Customization
If AD145, 85, and 230 aren't accessible, 145 still can be used in the custom Phantom Bull 145WD. Though outclassed, it is still good.

Bottom: Wide Defense
* Weight: 0.7 grams

Wide Defense, as its name implies is one of the widest of the “Defense” series of Bottoms (D, SD, WD, PD, EWD). This brings numerous advantages, but also some disadvantages when compared to the other “Defense” Bottoms, specifically D. The advantages include its ability for abnormally long precession times due to its massive width that reaches the edge of the Bottom's perimeter. This allows it to wobble at a significantly larger angle for a longer period of time than D, and at a much lower spin rate. However, depending on the position of the Beyblade using WD and the spin rate of the opponent, this can be disadvantageous because of how easy it becomes to knock over the precessing WD custom. This low spin rate towards the end of the battle is created because in the process of wobbling at such a large angle, more friction is made with the stadium floor, thus decreasing its Stamina. Nevertheless, this more often an advantage than it is a disadvantage.

Newer parts such as CS, EDS and B:D have overshadowed WD to some degree: CS and EDS due to their ability to be paired with the popular BD145 Track without scraping, and B:D because of its height and even longer precession times, but WD is still one of the best pure Stamina Bottoms available. However, when selecting high Tracks such as TH170 and 230, WD's tendency to wobble at larger angles should be kept in mind, as its extreme precession can often become problematic.

Although the name suggests Defensive characteristics, WD does not possess any inherent defensive qualities. However, its proficiency can be increased significantly when facing left-spin Attackers through the utilization of the Weak Shooting technique.

Use in Stamina Customization
WD is arguably the best of the "Defense" series, and can be used in the custom Scythe Kronos AD145WD.

Other Versions
</gallery>

Overall
Basalt Horogium 145WD contains two top-tier parts that every Blader needs to play at a high level competitively; Basalt and WD. WD is one of the best Stamina Bottoms available, and Basalt, with its astronomical weight is indisputably the best Defense Wheel to date after Diablo from Diablo Nemesis X:D. Horogium, while a non-essential part, does have use as a good alternative to Pisces for exposing Screw's slopes. Every Blader should own at least one of this Beyblade.
__TOC__

Face: Uranus
An eery impression is given with this Face: as a matter of fact, we can clearly distinguish a masked head, whose left half is also a skull. It's uncertain how exactly this relates to Uranus however. What is sure is that the Face mark is voluntarily divided in two, which can imply a split personality that is malevolent in both cases.

4D Clear Wheel: Uranus
*Weight: 2.4 grams

The Uranus Clear Wheel, in a dark blue colour, accentuates the wind designs on the 4D Metal Wheel by illustrating shapes in movement coming from the centre of the Beyblade as if it were in a right-spin motion. Uranus has two pentagonal shapes above and below its centre, and the stickers on it represent wings slightly shaped into faces, where one is more diabolical-looking with jagged feathers, and the other is more heroic looking, with smoothly curved lines.

4D Metal Wheel: Duo
*Weight: 42.3 grams

Duo is formed of series of spirals seemingly emitted by the centre, as if they were wind gushes. After all, Duo's gimmick is being either stabilized, or destabilized, so the design relates to the flow and the extent of movement the Beyblade can have.

Metal Frame
*Weight: 20.7 grams
This part is simply circular with some relief here and there due to the spirals in its upper design. However, what is interesting about Duo's Metal Frame is the way it makes the mode change work. On its underside, there is a wall on only one part that can either stick out on the side or fit in by covering a slight hole in the Core.

When in Attack Mode, the wall on the underside adds more weight to one side, so the 4D Metal Wheel as a whole is more prone to being destabilized, especially when hit. It relies on these wide movements to perform its Attack and destabilize the opposing Beyblade as well, however this aspect of the gimmick is mostly to its disadvantage.

In Stamina Mode, the slight hole in the Core is filled with the wall from the Metal Frame's underside and Duo is almost completely circular, indeed confering the 4D Metal Wheel impressive Endurance abilities. More importantly, weight is distributed a lot more adequately and equally around the circumference in this mode, causing no imbalance.

Core
*Weight: 21.6 grams
The Core is the heaviest part of the Duo 4D Metal Wheel. It carries the structure of the two cavities required for the mode change. The regions surrounding those empty sections in Duo are much more dense. The most hollow area is the hole where the wall from the underside of the Metal Frame gets placed when in Stamina Mode. There is only one other place where that small wall can be put for the Attack Mode, and that part is right on the left of the other cavity, both of them forming a 90° angle on the Core. This second hole is not as hollow, and by filling it, it therefore leaves a much emptier side on the Core, provoking imbalance easily.

Track: 230
* Weight: 4.1 grams

230 is the tallest Track released thus far. 230 is part of the Maximum Series, and is labeled as the Maximum Height for Tracks. 230 has six indents near the top of the Track that sharpen downwards to about the half of the Track. 230 is rounder and thicker than regular Tracks with no gimmicks, in order to protect it structurally as it comes into regular contact with opposing Wheels. Its round and smooth shape results in significantly less recoil than if it were based on the traditional hexagonal Track shape. Since 230 is so tall, it can wobble at great lengths for extra Stamina, defeating various Stamina customizations with lower Tracks. From a defensive viewpoint, it uses its height as an advantage to protect itself from low incoming Attacks, by protecting the Metal Wheel from major contact while using the reinforced plastic to absorb most of the shock. As a result of this, 230 can defeat most low Attack customizations under the 120 height when paired with other top-tier Defense parts.

230 also has some notable weaknesses, however. As a Defense Track, 230 is extremely susceptible to tall Track Attack types in the opposite spin direction such as MF Lightning L Drago BD145LRF and MF Gravity Perseus BD145RF. Additionally, TH170 at 220 height is successful against 230-based customizations, while also offering height-based versatility at the same time.

Use in Stamina customization
230 can be put to use in the Stamina customization Scythe Bull 230D. D is a superior choice for 230 because it retains balance more easily than WD.

Bottom: Wide Defense
* Weight: 0.7 grams

__TOC__

Face: Quetzalcoatl
The Face depicts Quetzalcoatl, the Mesoamerican feathered serpent deity. This Face mark differs from the Metal System Quetzalcoatl Face however. It resembles more its first Face mark, but it has more colours, exaggerated traits, a more fierce design, as well as patterns in the sticker's background that got inspired by the Mesoamerican civilization's cultures.

4D Clear Wheel: Quetzalcoatl
*Weight: 2.6 grams

The Quetzalcoatl Clear Wheel is of a pale golden colour and illustrates two winged serpents with a head more like that of a cobra.

4D Metal Wheel: Death
*Weight: 43.6 grams

The gimmick introduced in this 4D Metal Wheel is that one of the two metal parts, the Metal Frame, can be flipped to form another mode. Death has no PC Frame, only metal pieces, which makes it one of the heaviest 4D Metal Wheels available.

Metal Frame
When put in Attack Mode, the Metal Frame shows details of several serpent heads with fangs, enhancing the term "attack".

If the Metal Frame is completely flipped to be in Defense Mode, this other side reveals a design of serpent scales, which relates to the term "defense" and how animals defend themselves with their back, their scales, etc.

Core
As with any other Core in 4D, this part connects the Wheel with the Track. Its design is based on wings, so the combination of the Metal Frame and the Core indeed illustrate a winged serpent, which is the representation of Quetzalcoatl.

Track: 125
*Weight: 1.0 gram
The 125 Track is a midway between the 105 and the 145 Tracks. Utilized in mid-height stamina combos, it is more difficult to destablize compared to 145 height stamina combos. It has declined in popularity as the choice mid-height track due to the release of gimmicked tracks of the same height, such as T125 and D125.

Bottom: Rubber Defense Flat
*Weight: 1.1 grams

RDF is an odd combination of shapes to hypothetically form a tip with both Defense and Attack abilities. This Bottom consists of a very wide plastic encasing which holds a rubber tip with a large, flat surface and a small protuberance in the middle which ends in another flat point. The rubber, which constitutes the actual tip, comes very flush with the plastic structure that contains it.
</gallery>

Overall
The interest of this beyblade is only if you don't have better parts. Death, 125 and RDF confirms this constat. Death have use in defence due to it's weight if you don't own Basalt or Diablo, 125 does have use in attack if you don't have CH120 and RDF has poor stamina, due to be a rubber tip, and do have floor scraps when stamina becomes low. Even that, it can be used in replacement of WD or EWD. Every blader should own at least one copy of this beyblade.

</gallery>

}}

Track: 230
* Weight: 4.1 grams

* Weight: 0.7 grams

WD is arguably the best of the “Defense” series of Bottoms, and its effectiveness can be utilized in the custom Phantom Bull AD145WD.

Other Versions
<gallery>

</gallery>

Overall
This bey does more than make it: Duo masters weight distribution, and can be used both in defence and attack customisations due to it's weight. And the Re-edition of 230 and WD, who are top-tier spin track and performance tip. Every blader should own multiples of this beyblade.

* Weight: 1.05 Grams
The Face on this Beyblade depicts Horologium, one of the 88 constellations in space. Horologium is the pendulum clock constellation.

Clear Wheel: Horogium
* Weight: 2.71 Grams

* Weight: 47.52 Grams

Track: 145
* Weight: 1.47 Grams

* Weight: 0.7 grams

Wide Defense, as its name implies is one of the widest of the “Defense” series of Bottoms (D, SD, WD, PD, EWD). This brings numerous advantages, but also some disadvantages when compared to the other “Defense” Bottoms, specifically D. ==Overall==
