Basalt is a completely circular Metal Wheel, with sets of indents distributed around its circumference and is almost cylindrical in its thickness, part of which overhangs the Track being used in conjunction with it.

Basalt is a member of the Maximum Series, with its "gimmick" being "maximum weight". It is the heaviest Metal Wheel ever created; much heavier and thicker than even the infamous [[Libra DF145BS| Libra]]. Basalt's circular nature, in combination with its abnormally heavy weight make it without a doubt, the absolute best Metal Wheel for Defense customizations.

However, Basalt is missing a chunk of metal inside its perimeter which forms what is called the "Spiral Staircase of Death". The "Spiral Staircase of Death" was meant to neuter Basalt's incredibly high power slightly by creating an imbalance within the Wheel. While this imbalance does indeed occur, it is not a notable hindrance to its usefulness. In fact, despite the imbalance/wobbling caused by the "Spiral Staircase of Death", Basalt also has strong Stamina, although it has since been outclassed by Scythe and Phantom. The imbalance/wobbling caused by the "Spiral Staircase of Death" does contribute slightly to the [[recoil]] Basalt suffers, but again, this is not a huge hindrance to its usefulness.

Although Basalt has recoil because of the metal missing from the wheel, its sheer weight alone makes Basalt more effective than [[Earth Aquila 145WD| Earth]] and even Libra at Defense. Its capabilities can be utilized in the staple custom ''MF-H Basalt Bull BD145MB/CS''.

Basalt may have a bad solo-spin time, but nevertheless, its Stamina in battle is impressive. In addition, its recoil reduces the opponent's [[Spin Velocity|rotation speed]] and can sometimes knock it out. Basalt's Stamina ability can be used to great effect in the custom ''Basalt Bull AD145WD''.

This track is a regular, non-gimmicked track at the 145 height. It can be used in Stamina customs to great effect to to its tall height, but has been outclassed for wobbler customs by 230. It used to be on par for Stamina customs with DF145, but AD145 offers better Stamina on a 145 height, and 85 offers better Stamina in general. Thus, it's outclassed.

If AD145, 85, and 230 aren't accessible, 145 still can be used in the custom ''Phantom Bull 145WD''. Though outclassed, it is still good.

==Bottom: Wide Defense==

Wide Defense, as its name implies is one of the widest of the “Defense” series of Bottoms (D, SD, WD, PD, EWD). This brings numerous advantages, but also some disadvantages when compared to the other “Defense” Bottoms, specifically D. The advantages include its ability for abnormally long precession times due to its massive width that reaches the edge of the Bottom's perimeter. This allows it to wobble at a significantly larger angle for a longer period of time than D, and at a much lower spin rate. However, depending on the position of the Beyblade using WD and the spin rate of the opponent, this can be disadvantageous because of how easy it becomes to knock over the precessing WD custom. This low spin rate towards the end of the battle is created because in the process of wobbling at such a large angle, more friction is made with the stadium floor, thus decreasing its Stamina. Nevertheless, this more often an advantage than it is a disadvantage.

Newer parts such as CS, EDS and B:D have overshadowed WD to some degree: CS and EDS due to their ability to be paired with the popular BD145 Track without scraping, and B:D because of its height and even longer precession times, but WD is still one of the best pure Stamina Bottoms available. However, when selecting high Tracks such as TH170 and 230, WD's tendency to wobble at larger angles should be kept in mind, as its extreme precession can often become problematic.

Although the name suggests Defensive characteristics, WD does not possess any inherent defensive qualities. However, its proficiency can be increased significantly when facing left-spin Attackers through the utilization of the [[Weak Shooting]] technique.

An eery impression is given with this Face: as a matter of fact, we can clearly distinguish a masked head, whose left half is also a skull. It's uncertain how exactly this relates to Uranus however. What is sure is that the Face mark is voluntarily divided in two, which can imply a split personality that is malevolent in both cases.

This part is simply circular with some relief here and there due to the spirals in its upper design. However, what is interesting about Duo's Metal Frame is the way it makes the mode change work. When in Attack Mode, the wall on the underside adds more weight to one side, so the 4D Metal Wheel as a whole is more prone to being destabilized, especially when hit. It relies on these wide movements to perform its Attack and destabilize the opposing Beyblade as well, however this aspect of the gimmick is mostly to its disadvantage.

In Stamina Mode, the slight hole in the Core is filled with the wall from the Metal Frame's underside and Duo is almost completely circular, indeed confering the 4D Metal Wheel impressive Endurance abilities. There is only one other place where that small wall can be put for the Attack Mode, and that part is right on the left of the other cavity, both of them forming a 90° angle on the Core. Its round and smooth shape results in significantly less recoil than if it were based on the traditional hexagonal Track shape. Since 230 is so tall, it can wobble at great lengths for extra Stamina, defeating various Stamina customizations with lower Tracks. From a defensive viewpoint, it uses its height as an advantage to protect itself from low incoming Attacks, by protecting the Metal Wheel from major contact while using the reinforced plastic to absorb most of the shock. As a result of this, 230 can defeat most low Attack customizations under the 120 height when paired with other top-tier Defense parts.

230 also has some notable weaknesses, however. As a Defense Track, 230 is extremely susceptible to tall Track Attack types in the opposite spin direction such as MF Lightning L Drago BD145LRF and MF Gravity Perseus BD145RF. Additionally, TH170 at 220 height is successful against 230-based customizations, while also offering height-based versatility at the same time.

The Face depicts Quetzalcoatl, the Mesoamerican feathered serpent deity. This Face mark differs from the Metal System [[Quetzalcoatl 90WF | Quetzalcoatl]] Face however. It resembles more its first Face mark, but it has more colours, exaggerated traits, a more fierce design, as well as patterns in the sticker's background that got inspired by the Mesoamerican civilization's cultures.

The interest of this beyblade is only if you don't have better parts. Death, 125 and RDF confirms this constat. Death have use in defence due to it's weight if you don't own Basalt or Diablo, 125 does have use in attack if you don't have CH120 and RDF has poor stamina, due to be a rubber tip, and do have floor scraps when stamina becomes low.
